Bryony Rose Jennings is a Portsmouth-based textile artist who is popular for creating adorable animal sculptures using waste fabric. Her animal sculptures are rich in life and artistic value. Artists like Jennings have an extraordinary imagination when it comes to creativity. They have pushed the boundaries of traditional fabric arts like embroidery, weaving, tapestries, and so on.

When describing Jennings’s adorable animal sculptures, they are highly detailed. The colours and textures used in each sculpture are unique. It seems each sculpture has its own story to reveal. This wonderful artist always tries to make her art soulful and expressive. She doesn’t hesitate to experiment with colour coordination because she values the creativity of her sculptures more than their realism.

Jennings doesn’t follow a specific method or technique to create them. As a traditional sculpture artist, she simply begins crafting them and lets each animal sculpture find its own authenticity through the process. Her approach is more unconventional and independent. In the end, that liberation becomes visible as a form of creativity and uniqueness through her adorable animal sculptures.

Mama of Small Wildings..

When we look into Jennings’s artistic journey, we find that she didn’t start as a textile artist. She was a jewellery designer from 2004 to 2008. In 2008, she decided to switch her career from jewellery to textiles with the success of her life-size patchwork of a donkey created using waste fabric. Since then, she has been breathing life into a zoo of animals using scrap materials through her adorable animal sculptures. That is why, today, she refers to herself as “Mama of Small Wildings”.

Undoubtedly, no one else apart from her can be the mother of this creative and unique collection of animal sculptures. Jennings inspires us to think unconventionally and creatively. According to her, we should not be strict about things. Let the magic happen and bring you to the land of creativity. Moreover, beauty can be found in what is discarded as waste as well.
