Colourful Flower Installations Transform Beautiful New York City into a Garden

Lewis Miller is a florist who always tries out different types of flower decorations and this time, he decided to decorate New York City with colourful flower installations throughout the city. He selects insignificant spots around the city and beatifies them with colourful flower installations. The city looks like a garden because of these huge bunches of flowers.

Flower Flash..

These colourful flower installations are a part of his ongoing project, which is named “Flower Flash”. As the name implies, colourful flower decorations are there for only a few hours. He selects a location, decorates it, and after a few hours, the magical flower garden is all gone. Therefore, people are encouraged to enjoy its beauty to the fullest. People consider themselves to be so lucky whenever they can see a bunch of colourful flowers bloomed in a random corner of the city.

Miller selects random and unremarkable sites such as dustbins, phone booths, and even signal boards as the locations. Then he decorates those places using colourful flower decorations and transforms those places into magical gardens. Not only flowers, but Miller uses a variety of plants, leaves, vines and even a bunch of bananas for his decorations. Those arrangements are abundant, and each arrangement has a unique beauty compared to the others.

An isolated dustbin becomes a flower vase with his colourful flower installations. A random phone booth in the other corner of the city becomes a room full of flowers. Furthermore, the flowers are overflowing out of its door. A signal board near the pedestrian crossing becomes a stick covered with beautiful flowers. Moreover, an abandoned ice cream van becomes a flower van, which carries flowers even on top of it. The city looks like a garden in heaven with all these decorations.

The Purpose..

According to Miller, the purpose of this concept of “Flower Flash” is to go beyond the typical flower decorations. The typical flower decorations are always neat and well-arranged. However, he tries to keep those fundamentals aside and create colourful flower installations which are also messy, and random. As he further mentioned, although he plans the arrangement before installing flowers, he allows himself to make slight changes to the original design. Sometimes, he arranges flowers in a way that he feels is most appropriate at that time. Usually, Miller decorates New York City with his colourful flower installations on special days such as Valentine’s Day. Sometimes, different companies collaborate with him to promote their brands through Miller’s colourful flower installations.
