Iris van Herpen is a Dutch fashion designer well-known for designing stunning geometric outfits. This time, she has taken an innovative step ahead by creating the first-ever 3D-printed wedding dress in the world. She has done this incredibly wonderful wedding gown for Mariana Pavani, a Brazilian lawyer. This unique design consists of a wedding gown that showcases modern futuristic 3D patterns, exceptionally designed neckless and a beautiful lace train.
Van Herpen is already known for the exquisite designs she made for celebrities like Beyonce, Hunter Schafer and Elizabeth Debicki. That’s why Pavani was so non-conservative and collaborative throughout the design process of this stunning geometric outfit. She knew that van Herpen was capable of making something extraordinary to make her big day even more glamorous.
Van Herpen dedicated approximately 600 hours to designing this stunning geometric outfit. Only the 3D printing process has taken nearly 41 hours. The first thing she did was to take Pavani’s 3D body scan. However, this iconic designer ensured to iterate the making process several times to get the best out of it.

Van Herpen was honoured to attend events like the Met Gala because of that. Well-known public figures like Grimes and Mona Patel offered van Herpen the chance to design their dress as well.
