You have probably heard the phrase seeing is believing, but some things in life are better seen than described. Georgy Kurasov, Russian artist proves this phrase in his kaleidoscopic paintings, which are not only visually stunning, but also optical illusions of color and form. One of Kurasov’s most popular works is titled Neo-Constructivist Composition which is a bold painting that conveys the impact of architecture on the human psyche. His art takes geometric shapes, turns them into kaleidoscopes, and fuses them with psychedelic patterns to create some truly mind-blogging paintings and sculptures.
Kurasov’s preference for the geometric is evident in paintings comprised of soft, rounded forms that look as if they could be more at home in a design magazine than a gallery. His harmonious works also feature a sense of movement, as differing contrasting geometric forms push, pull, and collide in intriguing ways.
Artists’ kaleidoscopic creations are part of a series of paintings revolving around a common theme, each piece of art revolving around different colors. Therefore, his works are equally impressive on an intimate level and on a grand scale. Further, he has exhibited his paintings in various countries, as well as in the United States.
